The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has narrowed down a field that started at 46 people, announcing their three finalists for the open activities director position.

The job became available at the beginning of the current school year, when former AD Reece Satre accepted the same position in the North Polk School District. ADM then hired former Boone AD Larry Moklestad as interim director, and began the search for a permanent replacement in late 2019. Interviews were conducted throughout February, and this past Monday they announced the finalists. Matthew Fouch is the current High School Assistant Principal and AD at Tipton Community Schools. He’s been assistant principal for one year and AD for three. Greg Thomas currently serves as the Assistant Principal and AD at Humboldt High School, positions he’s held the last four years. Finally, Rod Wiebers is a teacher and coach at Johnston Community Schools, who has also served as the District’s School Administration Manager, Activities Event Manager, and Assistant AD. He’s been at Johnston for 17 years, the last 10 as SAM, and the last six in the other two positions.

Each of the three finalists will be interviewed again on March 4th, a process that will include administrators, coaches, directors, and sponsors. After that, the administrative team consisting of Superintendent Greg Dufoe, High School Principal Lee Griebel, Middle School Principal Kim Timmerman, and Assistant Principal Matt Lohmann will review the applicants and make a recommendation to the School Board.
