The AC/GC girls basketball team broke the school record for wins and leaned on a core of players to do so.
The Chargers went 11-11 this year which is the best record since Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center merged high schools. The Chargers were led by their electric offense to find success. AC/GC averaged 51.7 points per game, which was good for third in the West Central Activities Conference. Even more impressively, the Chargers didn’t lean on one monster scorer to put up points. Sophomore Alaina Bunde was the teams top scorer with 9.9 points per game. AC/GC had FOUR players average between seven and 10 points per game. In order the leading Chargers were Bunde, EmmaKay McClain, Kylie and Kennedy Young. The team leaned on each of the four to step up in various games and situations when they needed someone to count on.
