A former U.S. Ambassador will talk about his travels on the historic Lincoln Highway this weekend in Jefferson.
The Greene County Historical Society, Jefferson Public Library and the Lincoln Highway Association are partnering to bring retired U.S. Ambassador Michael Owen for a special program at 2pm Sunday at the library. Following his 30-year international career, Owen spent the last few years traveling the Lincoln Highway, which also brought him through Greene County.
Owen will not only talk about his Lincoln Highway experiences, but also his new book, “After Ike: On the Trail of the Century-Old Journey that Changed America.” Owen’s book explores the 1919 military convoy that went on the Lincoln Highway.
Owen will be live via Skype for the interview Sunday. The event is free and open to the public, with refreshments served.
