A Churdan man pled guilty to probation violation and a new domestic charge.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Joshua LeClair pled guilty to a lesser charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense of domestic abuse assault. He was originally charged with a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault from a December 2019 incident. LeClair also pled guilty to a probation violation charge. He was serving two years of probation for a May 2019 incident for domestic abuse assault.

LeClair had his probation revoked and the original two year prison sentence was imposed. The prison sentence is to run concurrently with the two year prison sentence from the aggravated misdemeanor incident. The no contact order was also lifted against the victim.

As per the plea agreement, the state agreed to drop the felony charge for possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a domestic violence offender from an investigation through the Department of Natural Resources that began on January 15th. LeClair was also ordered to pay $100 domestic abuse surcharge and court documents show he was unable to financially pay all fines, court costs and attorney fees.
