The Adel-Desoto-Minburn boys basketball team will competing in the class 3A district Substate 7 semifinals tonight at Dallas Center Grimes against the Mustangs. Both teams are coming off of nice first round wins on Monday night, with ADM defeating North Polk and DCG defeating Perry.

Both teams competed against each other back in Janaury with the Mustangs getting a 63-59 win. ADM will have to be very sharp tonight, they will have to win the battle of the boards, play good offense that leads to easy looks, and find a way to shut down the talented DCG offense, who is putting up over 60 points per game.

Both teams are very good at shooting the basketball, with ADM shooting the ball as a team at 46% and DCG shooting the ball at 49%. The key for both teams as well will be putting together consecutive stops and forcing pressure onto their opponent.

Coach Aaron Mager also talked about his keys being the pace of the game and controlling the paint, ” Well I would say as number 1 that we want to control the painted area we don’t want to give them shots in the rim and in the paint. We have to take care of the ball so that we don’t feed into their transition offense because they have good depth they get out and run. They get the crowd at their gym so you don’t want to get those folks excited.”

The game will be broadcast on True Country K1079, with a 7 o’clock tip, and the pregame to get rolling around 6:40. The game will also be streaming online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
