A Stuart man has recently been sentenced to serve up to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a juvenile last October.

Court records show that 27-year-old Derrick Devon Henry pleaded guilty in Adair County to third degree sexual abuse, a class C felony, and has been sentenced to prison with credit for time already served. He must also pay a $1,000 fine. A class B felony charge for first degree burglary is expected to be dismissed without prejudice. These charges stemmed from an October 14th, 2019 incident in which Henry opened the bedroom window from the outside and climbed into a residence on Southwest 7th Street in Stuart. He then locked the bedroom door and sexually assaulted a female juvenile, and fled back through the bedroom window.
