The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors awarded a contract for a bridge replacement project Tuesday.
County Engineer Josh Sebern presented the Board a bid of about $1.2 million from Gus Construction to replace what Sebern called a “dinosaur bridge” on Chestnut Road. The plan is to replace the bridge with a box culvert, which Sebern expects to occur sometime this coming construction season. The project is being funded by state “swap dollars.” The Board also approved scheduling a public hearing for March 17th at 10 a.m. in regards to vacating the right-of-way of Roost Lane north of Highway 44, adopted a bridge posting resolution, and discussed proposed tax increment financing bridge replacement projects in Sebern’s five year plan, which he estimates will average at $240,000 each for six bridges.
