A program that only happens every three years in Jefferson is happening soon.

The 2020 Greene Leadership will be held Thursdays in March at the Greene County ISU Extension office. Topics that will be covered include “Understanding Ourselves and Others” on March 5th, “Leadership 101” on March 12th, “Communicating and Listening” on March 19th and “Creating an Innovative Environment” on March 26th. Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says not only does the program help develop personal leadership skills, but there other additional benefits as well.

“We want to build better people for employers, but we also want to build a stronger community. So these individuals go off and they may run for city council, a (county) board of supervisors, they may be a trustee of a township, school board, non-profit group, (or) active in their church. We all need these skills as we work on various boards that all have wonderful organizations in our community.”

The early bird registration is $200 per person by March 2nd, otherwise it will be $250. The program is sponsored by Junction Hilltop Farm. To register, call 515-386-2138 or stop by the Extension office.
