flight-to-reality

"Flight to Reality" by Anna Modeland

Time is running out for artists to submit their sculptures for this year’s Ring Out for Art contest with Jefferson Matters: Main Street.

This year’s contest will allow artists up to five sculpture designs to be submitted for consideration by a committee that is approved by the Greene County Board of Supervisors. From those initial entries, three sculptures will be selected. Each selected artist will receive a $1,000 stipend from Home State Bank. Popular voting will then be held, where the winner will have their sculpture on display until April 1, 2021. The winning artist will receive an additional $500.

The sculptures will be critiqued on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability, and the artwork must fit on a 4-foot-by-4-foot square with no height requirement.

Deadline to submit entries is March 16th and they should be mailed to 110 West Lincoln Way in Jefferson. Click the link below for a copy of the application. The contest is sponsored by JMMS, Home State Bank and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
