The Dallas County Secondary Roads Department followed two big purchases two weeks ago with three more this past week.
At the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting, the Roads Department proposed acquisitions of two pickup trucks and an attachment for their newest machinery. For the trucks, they found a pair of 2020 Ford F-150’s at Stivers Ford-Lincoln in Des Moines. The first is a basic three-quarter-ton truck, costing $32,774, while the second has a few added features and costs $40,941. As for the attachment, it’s a walk and roll packer that will be equipped to one of the soil compactors the Board previously approved. The Roads Department found one for $42,755 through LyCox Enterprises from Billings, Montana, which they felt was a reasonable price.
The Supervisors had no objections to the purchase requests and approved them as presented.
