It’s day two of the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. It’s also day two of extensive play-by-play on all three Raccoon Valley Radio Network Stations, plus streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Class 3A starts the action today at 9 a.m. and four Waukee Warriors and four Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs will be in the quarterfinals. DC-G has Jacob Fistler (106), Trey Wells (132), Luke Fistler (160), and Zach Needham (170), while Waukee has Thurman Christensen (120), Connor Kelley (126), Cody Anderson (152), and Griffin Gammel (182).
On the consolation side from DC-G is Brayden Broderick (152) with Waukee having Elijah Hoffbauer (106) and Tanner Spyksma (170) in the second consolation round.
Class 2A started the tourney with 19 area wrestlers and 15 are still going on day two. Quarterfinalists include:
