A public hearing on the Greene County tax levy proposal for the next fiscal year is coming up soon.

 The Greene County Board of Supervisors are proposing a reduction in the overall general fund tax levy. The proposed rate is $6.08 per $1,000 of valuation, which is a decrease from the current fiscal year general fund tax levy rate of $6.40. The total tax asking dollars from the general fund $4,485,973, which is slightly less compared to the current fiscal year of $4,530,985. 

 The proposed rural tax levy rate shows an overall increase of 1.67 percent. The total tax asking dollars for the 2021 fiscal year is $1,766,991, compared to $1,737,934 for the current fiscal year. 

The Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed property tax levies during their regular meeting on Monday, February 24th at 9am.
