All area military veterans can see a free movie at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson.

The movie “1917” will be on the big screen Tuesday, February 25th at 2pm. The movie is based on true accounts of World War I about two soldiers who need to deliver an ambush warning to another British regiment that is isolated in German territory.

The movie is free to all military veterans, guardsmen, reserve military personnel, as well as the spouse of a service member or transportation drivers of veterans. Attendees will also be treated to free popcorn and a drink. Prior to the movie, Greene County Veterans Affairs Director Mike Bierl will talk about the federal and state benefits available for veterans and a Carroll Veterans Affairs Clinic representative will briefly discuss services that they provide.

The free movie is sponsored by the Greene County Veterans Commission and the Iowa Veterans Outreach Grant.
