A reminder that this Saturday is the annual Greene County Cattlemen’s Association Banquet.
The event will be held at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. The new trade show will kick things off at 5:30pm. Board of Directors member Tanner Lawton says several agronomy and livestock vendors will have booths set up to talk with attendees about their services.
“I think with the group that we have there, there will probably be a lot of information. So if you’re not somebody that feeds cattle or raises corn or (soy)beans, you can still go there and learn kind of how the processes go with everything that we do in the cattle industry.”
A social time will take place from 6-6:30pm, followed by the ribeye steak dinner. The trophy auction will then wrap up the evening. Lawton says the trophies that are purchased during the auction will be given to Greene County 4-H’ers during the 2020 Greene County Fair, and the proceeds will be used for scholarships to graduating high school seniors, as well as beef promotions at the county, state and national level.
Tickets may be purchased $20 at the Greene County Extension office or from any Greene County Cattlemen’s Association board of directors. Tickets will also be available at the door.
