A Redfield man has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty in a Guthrie County jury trial.

Court documents show 60-year-old Dennis Carroll Glenn was found guilty on two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a class D felony, and all other related charges were dismissed. Glenn was sentenced to serve up to 15 years at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale with a mandatory minimum of three years for each count, to be served concurrently. He will receive credit for time served since his arrest in the case. Glenn must pay over $200 in surcharges and DARE fees, and the court found him to have no reasonable ability to pay for other expenses.

The case stemmed from an August 29, 2019 incident when a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop in Bagley on a vehicle in which Glenn was a passenger. A probable cause search of the vehicle found a backpack belonging to Glenn containing marijuana plant material, two meth pipes with residue, a marijuana pipe with residue, and other paraphernalia.
