Landus Cooperative recently announced their new CEO.

The Landus Cooperative Board of Directors have announced Matt Carstens as the new CEO. He has 25 years of experience in the agriculture industry from agronomy retail to end-user grain customers, food manufacturers, and others. Carstens most recently served a Truterra Senior Vice President, which is a division of Land O’Lakes. He has also worked with United Suppliers.

Carstens says the focus on the business will remain the same, growing the success of its members in the 26 Iowa counties that they serve. He looks to be a trusted advisor, a partner who will advocate on the member’s behalf and find new ways to make their operation better.

Carstens grew up in the Guthrie and Dallas County area and now lives in Panora. He has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business from Iowa State University. He will take over the position on March 9th, following the previous CEO Milan Kucerak, who mutually parted ways last fall with the farmer-owned cooperative.
