The high school girls’ basketball season ended on Wednesday night in Story City for Greene County. Coach Tyler Westhoff’s Rams fell to third ranked Roland-Story 55-30 to end the season with a 3-20 record while R-S advances to the Class 3A Region 3 title game on Saturday with a 19-3 mark.

The Rams went 0-3 vs. R-S this season by scores of 76-11, 70-9, and Tuesday’s 25 point loss. Even though the game wasn’t close, it was a much better showing by Greene County than the first two meetings. Sophomore Brianna Habben had 12 points for the Rams with junior Sadie Wilson at 10 and eight, all from the free throw line, for senior Izzy Bravard. No other Greene County player scored. The Rams had 29 turnovers.

The Norsemen had nine players score and they were led by sophomore Reece Johnson with 10 points and three others with eight apiece. The Norsemen led 30-12 at halftime and were up by a 33-18 count early in the second half and they put the game away with a run of 14 unanswered points. R-S had 15 turnovers and played all 14 players.
