Starting tomorrow, five wrestlers from Dallas Center-Grimes will compete on the state’s biggest stage at the 2020 Iowa State Wrestling Tournament. The group of five, and Head Coach, Cory Stratton will make the short, 18 mile trip to Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines.
At 106, the Mustangs send Jacob Fistler. A Freshman that’s 27–2 and seeded seventh heading into Thursday.
In the 132 pound class, we’ll watch DC-G’s Trevon Wells that’s 23-4 for the year. Wells is a State Tournament veteran who is seeded seventh, as well.
Three other Mustangs will also be on the mat this weekend at the State Tournament.
At 152, Brayden Broderick, a Sopomore. Broderick is 9-6 this year. A State Tourney veteran who is up 20 lbs. from 2019.
Weighing in at 160, one of the Senior leaders, Luke Fistler. Fistler is also a State Tournament Veteran. He comes in at 15-4 on the year and is seeded seventh.
The other Senior leader at State for DC-G is 170 pound, Zach Needham. Needham is 30-4 this year and also a State Tournament veteran who is the highest seeded Mustang at this year’s State Tournament.
