Two familiar foes will take the court tonight in the second round of the playoffs.

The AC/GC girl’s basketball team will make the quick trip to Panora to face Panorama for the third time this year. Panorama will look to keep their winning streak against Guthrie County school active as the Panthers have not lost to a team from the county since 2009. They are 2-0 against AC/GC this season grinding out a 52-48 victory early in the season in Guthrie Center then coasting to a 60-40 win a few weeks later. Panorama is currently ranked 14th in Class 2A with an 18-3 record on the year, including 18 wins in their last 19 games.

For AC/GC to pull off the upset, they’ll need to slow down Panorama’s Payton Beckman. The sophomore led the team and the West Central Activities Conference with an even 400 points after the regular season. The mark translate to 19 points per game. That’s also good for 10th overall in Class 2A. Beckman has led the Panthers offense which is first in the WCAC in scoring, averaging 57.3 points per game.
