For around a year, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has been working alongside their alumni association on a piece of artwork that will roar with Tiger pride.

The alumni have commissioned a fiberglass tiger sculpture modeled after the school’s logo, which will be placed near the main entrance to ADM Middle School in Adel. The art will be created by a Chicago-based artist that specializes in this type of piece, having crafted several other two-dimensional logos for schools including the University of Iowa. Superintendent Greg Dufoe points out that the sculpture won’t directly cost the school any money, except for liability insurance coverage, though the community will be asked to pitch in. “It’s been a big process, we have an agreement that we’ve worked on together that both groups are happy with, and we were able to bring it to the Board to approve so the work can keep going. So the alumni association is still fundraising – because it’s expensive – and working on that end of it, and we hope for completion some time before school or soon after next August/September area.”

The artwork donation was approved by the ADM School Board at their most recent meeting, and they along with many others in the District are excited to see the project through completion.
