The Stuart City Council approved pay items presented by City Engineer Forrest Aldrich at their recent meeting.

The first item was the third partial pay estimate for work done on the All Saints addition from January 9-February 3 in the amount of about $20,080 to Concrete Technologies, Incorporated. They also approved the first change order of the project for $54,021 for an eight foot wide and five inch thick sidewalk to connect from the high school to the south of the All Saints Church. Stuart Economic Development Director Kristen Renslow says this amount has already been budgeted.

The Council then directed Aldrich to refute the position of Kingston Services on the City’s retainment of $38,981 as liquidated damages for their work on the Wambold Addition, Phase 2. Kingston Services sent a letter to Aldrich arguing that the maximum liquidated damage for the project shouldn’t exceed $17,000. The project was completed a year behind schedule.
