The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors officially adopted their salary increases for next fiscal year.

The Board passed a resolution Tuesday for a 3.5 percent increase for all elected officials and County employees, including themselves. Also at that meeting Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson informed the Board that he intends to give 90 percent of his salary increase to his assistant, Rob Tallman, who also works as a custodian for the courthouse. Thompson says he wants to help increase Tallman’s wage because he has been a good employee, and the same was done for him by his former supervisor Ron Allen. This plus Tallman’s planned salary increase will give him a bump from $18.03 to $19.37, according to Thompson.

The meeting also included department updates from Conservation Director Brad Halterman and Health Services Director Jotham Arber. Halterman informed the Board that his department recently had its close out meeting with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster relief from last year’s floods, his office renovation has been completed, and the department is working on installing L.E.D. lights in the conservation shop. Arber spoke to the Board about the coronavirus, and that his department has recorded 12 flu cases in the last week.
