The Raccoon River Valley Trail Association annual banquet will be here before you know it, so Dallas County Conservation encourages the public to get their tickets now.

The event doubles as a celebration of the trail and a fundraiser, with tickets available for $50 per person or $500 for a reserved table of eight. It will be held Saturday, February 22nd at the Country Lane Lodge near Adel, with a social hour from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and dinner to follow. The keynote speaker for the banquet will be Keith Kerkhoff, co-founder of Templeton Rye Whiskey. There will also be a live and silent auction, raffle drawings, and various exhibits on the trail. Dallas County Conservation Outreach Coordinator Ken Keffer says if you’ve never been to the event before, this year is a good starting point. “It’s so much fun to be involved, you know just sort of the sense of community around that event. And it really kind of brings together the entire region. So again, that’s the trail banquet on February 22nd. It’s going to be in the evening, but you’ve got to get your tickets ahead of time on that one. So (we) hope to see folks there!”

The banquet is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Trail Association, with funds used to market and promote the 89-mile central Iowa trail system.
