A popular Pixar franchise will be the theme for an upcoming children’s event at the Perry Public Library, and families are invited to take part in some free activities.

On Monday, February 24th from 5-6:30 p.m., the library will host a “Cars” Party in the large meeting room. The program is for kids ages 4-8 with an accompanying adult. It will include activities, games, and a light supper, all themed after the Pixar “Cars” trilogy. Perry Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel feels this event will be a nice counterbalance to recent programming that featured a lot of pink. “We had a ‘Princess Party’ last month, and so we thought, ‘We better, you know, make it equal here!’ And it’ll just be a fun evening, and the children will get to take home a little goody bag. I just enjoy having these events so the children can come to the library and see we are more than books at the library.”

The “Cars” Party is free to attend, but space is limited so registration is required. For more information or to sign up, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569.
