A Churdan man has been charged with a felony, following an investigation by a Department of Natural Resources conservation officer.

According to court documents, 35-year-old Joshua LeClair is charged with a Class D Felony for possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a domestic violence offender. Court documents show that Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Jeremy King was notified on January 15th about deer carcuses inside LeClair’s home in the 300 block of 150th Street near Scranton. King investigated and found that LeClair was not issued deer tags. 

King then executed a search warrant and found items related to a .50-caliber muzzleloader. LeClair’s cell phone also showed a picture of him and another individual posing with a deer and a muzzleloader. When questioned about the incident, LeClair admitted that he had a muzzleloader and took it to a friend’s house. Another search warrant was executed at the friend’s house where the muzzleloader was found in the basement. 

LeClair has been arrested and was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
