Greene County Development Corporation is working with other entities to develop a county-wide marketing plan.
GCDC Executive Director Ken Paxton says they are working with young community leaders and a marketing agency called Chatterkick to create a marketing plan to attract millennial families to Greene County. He explains that companies in the county are needing employees and by working with Chatterkick and young community leaders, they can better promote the County’s assets through social media. Paxton says advertising through social media is something the older generation doesn’t have a good grasp of.
“This is a marketing plan but for the new generation. It’s not traditional marketing where we are doing billboards and magazines. This is social media based. That’s what we need to do, that’s where they look and that’s how we attract young families. We have a lot of assets, we just need to make sure they know about them.”
There’s no timetable for when the marketing plan will be ready, but Paxton says progress has been happening in the last couple weeks.
