As the City of Stuart celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, the creativity of its residents is sought to help make their mark for the future.
Street name ideas are needed for two new streets being created in the All Saints Addition just west of the high school on White Pole Road. The developer, Stuart Enterprise for Economic Development (SEED), wishes for the public’s help to recognize the historical significance of the occasion. This task evokes a similar moment in 1970 when the City added two new streets named “Centennial” and “Exposition” during its 100th anniversary. SEED suggests the street names could invoke the town’s history or the All Saints Catholic Church, who previously owned the land. Copyrighted names will not be accepted, and ideas can be posted on the Stuart Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page, emailed to stuart150th@gmail.com, dropped off at the Varley Law Office, or mailed to P.O. Box 235 in Stuart.
