The Perry High School Pulse Dance Team recently took part in a regional competition, and left with a handful of new hardware for their trophy case.
This past Saturday, the team made a trip to Sioux City North High School to compete in the MA Dance Midwest Regionals. The event included squads from schools and independent studios in Iowa and Nebraska, which performed solo, ensemble, and team routines throughout the day. For the group from Perry, the day started with a bang, with Macie Mosher earning first place in the 15 to 16-year-old public high school solo division. The team then went on to win all three divisions they entered, including prop, hip hop, and pom.
If that weren’t enough, Pulse scored enough points to win an Outstanding Choreography Award, as well as a Super Sweepstakes Award for scoring over 90 points out of 100 in all three routines. Coach Faye Southward was complimentary of the team’s overall showing at the competition, as well as their hard work for getting to that point. Local audiences can catch the team’s performances at each of the remaining home varsity basketball games, and at the 14th annual Spring Showcase on February 28th. Tickets for the Showcase are $5 at the door.
