The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with approval of the payroll change notices as presented, and tabling action on vendor proposals for a pay plan review. The Board then approved a pay application from Storey Kenworthy for furniture at the new law enforcement center, in the amount of $193,731.07. They also approved the 24th pay application in the amount of $970,785.37 from the Samuels Group for the overall construction of the facility, which included payments to eight contractors. Jerry Purdy with the Farnsworth Group then gave an update on the project, which is expected to be completed by April 15th. Following that they approved a mobile home tax abatement request.

At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing for a three year lawncare contract with Tru Green, for $5,315.10 a year. No one objected, so the Supervisors approved the contract. A second public hearing was held at 10, focusing on the final plat of the Trail Ridge subdivision, plat two, located near DeSoto. This was also approved after there was no opposition. The Board then set a public hearing for February 25th at 10 a.m. for the vacation of a portion of County Road R-16, and another for February 18th at 9:30 a.m. to consider disposal of the vacant Secondary Roads Department sheds.

Also during the meeting, the Board welcomed students with the Chinese Association of Iowa, who have been taking an educational tour throughout the week. The session concluded with the latest budget workshop.
