A traffic stop led to two arrests Saturday night in Jefferson.
According to the Jefferson Police Department, an officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for having an insufficient number of headlamps in the 300 block of North Oak Street at 7:46pm. During the stop, the officer could smell a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. A “probable cause search” was conducted and suspected items of marijuana, cash, scales and an open container of alcohol were seized.
Following the investigation, 19-year-old Nicholas Scott Weber of Scranton was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and a simple misdemeanor for possession of alcohol by an underage person. The driver, 22-year-old Jacob Alexander Roby of Boone was arrested and charged with a serious misdemeanor for his first offense for possession of marijuana and simple misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia and open container of alcohol.
The two suspects were booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
