In case you forgot: today is the day for the 43rd annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR Ride, hosted by the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
The day starts with registration and the Lions Club breakfast at 7 a.m. at Hotel Pattee. The ride itself commences at 10 a.m., and participants will travel from Perry to Rippey and back along Highway 144. For anyone who hasn’t preregistered for the event, the cost to ride is $40, and you can sign up at any time during the day. Registration includes a BRR t-shirt, a raffle ticket to win $500 in Perry Bucks, free hot chocolate at the Hy-Vee halfway stop, admission to the McCreary Community Building for the day, support services, and discounts from local merchants.
As another reminder, riders and community members alike are invited back to the hotel at 2 p.m. for an after ride party. The event features an all-you-can-eat “Midwest Chili” bar and music provided by Stranger Than Fiction for $20. Additionally, the Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be on hand for BRR. We will broadcast live in front of Soumas Court from 8-10 a.m., provide public address services, and play music until 11. Listen to tomorrow’s news for a full recap of the 2020 BRR festivities.
