Last night, the Dallas Center-Grimes Basketball teams were back on their home court for the first time in over a week, as the Grinnell Tigers came to town for a Little Hawkeye Conference showdown.
In early December the two teams met up for the first time in Grinnell, with DC-G winning the Boys’ game, and Grinnell winning the Girls’ game. Friday night’s results were very similar.
In the first meeting, the Fillies dropped the Girls’ game 74-63. Last night, the DC-G Girls’ fell 73-62. The Fillies fall to 10-6 on the year with the loss.
However, the Mustangs didn’t disappoint in the Boys’ Varsity match-up. DC-G gets the season sweep over Grinnell, 53-35. The Mustangs appear to have buttoned up on the defensive end. In the past three games, DC-G’s opponent is scoring just under 39 points per game.
Three Mustangs were in double figures for Joel Rankin’s team. Luke Rankin and Alex Thomas each tallied up a dozen, with Cole Glasgow adding in 11 points. Cody Hall was close to breaking double figures, as he finished with 9 points.
DC-G will play at Pella Christian in a make-up contest on Monday. Monday’s game is a Boy/Girl Doubleheader.
