Greene County sent its wrestlers to Huxley on Thursday night to face a pair of Raccoon River Activities Conference programs in Ballard and Perry. Coach Zach Beekman’s team finished the dual meet season with a 23-5 record, beating Perry 43-21 and losing to the Bombers 42-27. Ballard is 20-4 and Perry 6-16.

The night started with the win over the Blue Jays. The Rams had five falls and a forfeit, a major decision, and one regular decision. Greene County had just five wins vs. Ballard and that total included two falls, one technical fall, a major decision, and a regular decision.

Rams going 2-0 Thursday night were second ranked McKinley Robbins at 106 lbs. with a 14-4 major decision and a 16-1 tech fall. Robbins improved to 26-1 and hasn’t lost since the first Saturday of the season. Senior Braden Gallagher at 120 lbs. had a win by decision and another by forfeit. Junior Brady Stauffer at 138 won by fall and by decision, with junior Sawyer Schiltz (220) earning a major decision and a fall, and senior Matt Naberhaus (285) getting a pair of first period falls.

All that’s left in the regular season for the Rams is Saturday’s 19-team ACGC Charger Invitational in Guthrie Center.
