Guthrie Center businesses looking to expand their offerings are encouraged to apply for Main Street Iowa’s “Open 4 Business” contest.
Businesses from designated Main Street districts can compete to win up to $28,000 to help execute their business expansion project. Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster says these projects could include anything from purchasing new equipment to software upgrades. Buster says Main Street Guthrie Center will pick a business at the end of February to sponsor for the competition. Buster says that business will then have until April 17th to finish their grant application, “They do a little five minute video of why they would be great for the grant and so it’s a really fun grant for people and it’s a good way to do those things that people have been thinking about doing with their businesses to take them forward into the future and expand what they’re offering currently.”
Main Street Guthrie Center has additional grant opportunities for local businesses looking to make improvements like purchasing new signage or making facade upgrades. Those interested can contact Buster at mainstreetgc@netins.net or 641-332-2674.
