The Iowa Caucus is just a few days away and even though the Republican Party doesn’t have as many candidates running for national seats, eligible voters are encouraged to participate.
Greene County Republican Central Committee Co-Chair Sean Sebourn says the presidential and Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District races are contested, while U.S. Senate seat is not for the Republican Party. He explains the process the Republican Party will follow on caucus night.
“We will take each of these contested Republican Primary races and have anybody who wants to speak up for their candidate have 3-5 minutes to speak. Once everyone is spoken for then we will have a secret ballot. Everyone will turn in their ballots and the secretary will tally up the numbers and we will see who wins for each precinct.”
Prior to the ballots being cast, Sebourn says a chair and secretary will be selected. After the ballots are submitted and winners are declared, the party’s platform planks will be selected. The caucus will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 7pm. See the list below for the Greene County Republican caucus locations.
