The 43rd Annual Bike Ride to Rippey (BRR) is this Saturday and once again it’ll be a party-like atmosphere in the small Greene County town.
The bike riders will leave Perry at 10am and ride up to Rippey along Highway 144. When participants arrive, they will have plenty of entertainment and food choices. The Friends of Rippey and The Thirsty Pig have partnered together to offer alcohol and soft drinks on Main Street, with part of the profits to go to the Rippey Sesquicentennial fund.
The United Methodist Church will once again serve a baked potato bar with several toppings, along with chili and cheese soup available. Additionally, they will have pies, bars, hot chocolate, coffee and water. The local Lions Club will have their roast beef sundaes at the Rippey Community Center. A roast beef sundae consists of mashed potatoes with roast beef slices and gravy with a cherry tomato. They will also have chili, bars, water, coffee and hot chocolate.
New this year are photo opportunities to promote the town’s 150th celebration that will happen on August 1st. The bike riders will then head back to Perry for a final party and more entertainment.
