Jefferson area adults looking for a way to beat the winter blues? The Jefferson Public Library is underway with its Adult Winter Reading Program.

Library Director Jane Millard explains how this year’s theme of “TimeEscape” is integrated in the Winter Reading Program.

“We’re going to explore the perception of time through reading, programs and activities about time travel, fantasy, history, clocks, escape from reality, time zones, steampunk, wormholes and alternate realities. Step through the portal with us as we travel through the past, present and future.”

Millard says participants will receive a “passport” that has programs and activities listed for the program. To qualify for prizes at the finale party on March 14th, participants must read at least four books, complete 15 activities and attend one program. The Adult Winter Reading Program is for anyone 18 and older and you must have a library card to complete most of the tasks.
