Both AC/GC basketball teams had a rough night on the court Tuesday.

For the third consecutive school day, basketball players for AC/GC hit the road for a double-header. The Chargers made the trip to Woodward-Granger Tuesday night. The girls took the court first in a matchup that featured the Charger’s offense who was third in the conference going up against the Hawk’s second-ranked defense. Both teams exchanged blows in the first two quarters and the margin was a single point heading into halftime. AC/GC came out of the gates swinging and took the lead after a 6-0 run to start the second half. Woodward-Granger responded by scoring 13 straight. The Hawks would go on to win the game 44-40.

The boy’s did not have better luck in their half of the double-header. Woodward-Granger came out on fire and outscored AC/GC 21-7 in the first eight minutes. The Hawks kept the Chargers at bay and were able to run away with a 70-53 victory.
