Nearly three weeks ago the Greene County wrestling team thought the home portion of their schedule was over. Because of weather wiping out a portion of the schedule earlier this month, Greene County has one more appearance at home this season, and it’s tonight.
Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams, from the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, put their 20-4 dual meet record on the line tonight vs. ADM and Colfax-Mingo starting at 6 p.m. in the middle school gym in Jefferson. C-M, a Class 1A program from the South Iowa Cedar League is 19-6 while 2A ADM has a 6-12 dual meet record.
This is the last week of the regular season and the Rams will get plenty of competition. After tonight, it’s a Thursday trip to Huxley for a quadrangular with Ballard, Perry, and Humbolt. The regular season ends at the ACGC Charger Invitational in Guthrie Center on Saturday.
The postseason starts with a Class 2A seven-team Sectional Tournament on Feb. 8 in Adel at 12 p.m. hosted by ADM.
