The 43rd annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR Ride, is this Saturday, and this year the Perry Chamber of Commerce is hoping to show that it’s more than just the ride.

Chamber Board member and Harvey’s at Hotel Pattee owner Katie Harvey says they have an assortment of offerings for people both before and after the ride, including entertainment in the afternoon. In the morning there will be the annual Lions Club breakfast, as well as a Bloody Mary bar, and beer provided by Big Grove Brewery. Harvey then invites the riders and the community to the hotel for a concert by local band Stranger Than Fiction, which will be accompanied by a “Midwest Chili” bar. “We’ll get them kicked off and out the door in the snow, and then we want to bring them back. We talked about that a lot last year about bringing the party back to Perry. You don’t have to ride the Ride to come in and have anything that we’re offering. Come in and listen to the band, or come in and have ‘Midwest Chili.’ It is definitely a community event, and we want to stress that.”

BRR registration opens at 7 a.m. at Hotel Pattee, along with the Lions breakfast and cash bar. The ride will commence at 10, and the after party will run from 2-6 p.m. The cost for the concert and chili bar is $20 per person, regardless if they took part in the Ride.
