Women of all ages, experiences, and farming backgrounds are reminded of a new group being hosted by Guthrie County Extension and Outreach.
The first Women Advancing Agriculture meeting takes place tomorrow from 6-8 p.m. at the Extension office in Guthrie Center. The guest speaker will be Extension Beef Specialist Erika Lundy talking about cow and calf operations. Extension Program Coordinator Krista Downing says this group will meet quarterly and discuss different topics on how to help women grow professionally in the ag sector, “Really, anybody that’s in the agriculture industry: you could be a teenager, you could be 90 years old, it really doesn’t matter, anywhere in between. We learn from each other so if you’ve been in the industry forever or just a few years, everyone has different stories and we learn from each other.”
Ideas are welcome for topics the group should tackle, and these meetings are free and open to the public.
