Greene County High School will have a few large group speech entries move onto the state contest.

This past Saturday was the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group District Contest. Greene County qualified three entries for the state contest. Those that qualified, and earned a Division I rating, include Choral Reading, “Joy in Mudville;” Short Film, “We Were There;” and Group Improvisation. The other entries that earned a Division II rating and didn’t qualify for state include Reader’s Theater and Group Mime. The room judge uses a rating scale and Division I ratings allows an entry to move onto the state contest.

A total of 19 students will go to Waukee High School on February 8th for the state contest.
