Students from across Guthrie County excelled at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s District Large Group Contest this past Saturday.
Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center and Panorama students both competed at the Woodward-Granger site while West Central Valley competed at Creston and students from the three districts received Division I ratings, earning their way to the state large group contest. Events from ACGC that advanced included choral reading, ensemble acting, mime, improv, musical theatre, one act, and radio news. All eight of Panorama’s entries earned Division I ratings in readers’ theatre, ensemble acting, musical theatre, improv, and choral reading; and West Central Valley earned a Division I rating for all three of its improv groups. The state large group contest takes place February 8th in Waukee.
