Don’t forget, the Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn speech teams are performing today at Woodward-Granger High School for the Iowa High School Speech Association Large Group District Contest.

There will be events throughout the day for both schools, with the earliest starting at 8:15 a.m. Perry has 17 students taking part in seven entries this year, including three improvisational acting teams, two ensemble acting pieces, short film, and reader’s theater. Meanwhile, ADM will be represented by 105 students in 18 entries across their freshman and varsity teams. The freshman groups include three group improv teams, reader’s theater, radio news, and TV news. The ADM varsity entries include two group improv, two ensemble acting, two musical theater, reader’s theater, choral reading, one act, short film, TV news, and mime.

The event is open to the public, with admission being a suggested $3 donation to the host school. Any entries that earn a “I” rating at Districts will advance to State, which will be held February 8th at Waukee High School. To view a complete schedule of today’s events, click the link below.
