The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers played a doubleheader on Friday night in Adel against the Bombers of Ballard, and the men’s team came away with the victory 72-52, while the girls were unable to defeat the 5th ranked team in the state 58-34.
The boys had one of their most impressive performances of the season, as they knocked out the previously unbeaten Bombers in Raccoon River Conference play. ADM had four different players in double figure scoring, and ballooned an eight point halftime lead into their final 20 point margin. They did a great job of fending off of a bigger Ballard team off of the glass, and relied on junior Nate Mueller to bring the ball effectively up the court.
The girls fought hard and led after the first quarter and only trailed by six at half, but Ballard woke up in the second half of play, as they went on a big fourth quarter run to finish out the game.
ADM girls drop to 9-4 on the year while the boys move to 6-6. The teams will have another doubleheader on Monday Night when they head up to Boone for another Raccoon River Conference Game.
