Next week is National Catholic Schools Week, and to kick off the celebration, St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry is hosting a free-will donation chili supper.
After the 4:30 p.m. Mass tomorrow, the public is invited to a chili and cinnamon roll supper in the school gymnasium. All proceeds from the free-will offerings will help fund special programs and trips for students throughout the year. Following the meal, Principal Kandice Roethler invites attendees to tour the school. She says they’ll specifically exhibit the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) curriculum they’ve rolled out. “So our K-5 teachers all got new STEM kits this school year, and they’re going to have those out for parents to see what the kids are doing. And we have new math curriculum too, so we’re going to use this night to kind of show off how much our kids are growing and learning from this curriculum. But really, the point of it is we want to celebrate this with everyone, more than just our local St. Pat’s community.”
There will be an assortment of activities at St. Pat’s during Catholic Schools Week, many of which the public is welcome to attend. To hear more from Roethler, listen to this coming Tuesday’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County program on air and at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
