6:27am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of South Walnut Street.

7:17am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1200 Block of Westwood Drive.

9:51am: An officer assisted a motorist, who was stuck in the snow, in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street.

11:18am: William Blanchard requested an officer at 306 West Washington Street for a disturbance. The officer spoke to all parties in the residence and learned two adult brothers had been in an argument. The two agreed to separate for the day.

12:21pm: Officers were called back to 306 West Washington Street for the two brothers arguing again. The caller reported one brother had a knife and was threatening the other in his room. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Robert E. Barnard, 53 of Jefferson for, “Domestic Abuse Assault while Displaying a Weapon – Aggravated.”

1:40pm: Alliant Energy reported the “Theft of Electrical Services” at 1006 North Walnut Street. The meter had been removed for non-payment at the residence. Alliant workers located someone had used copper wire to bypass the meter socket and allow the system to energize without the meter. The officer is investigating.

1:54pm: Uvette Winger spoke with an officer with concerns for her grandmother, who lives at 306 West Washington Street, being taken advantage of by other family members.

3:00pm: A Department of Corrections Probation Officer requested assistance from an officer in speaking to a Jefferson resident in connection to Protective Order Violation, which occurred in another jurisdiction.

4:44pm: An officer was advised of an Alarm Activation at 300 American Drive. While driving to the location, the officer was advised the facility advised it was a False Alarm and he was needed there.

7:46pm: Tim Pound reported an Open Overhead Door at 302 North Chestnut Street. The officers secured the door after checking the business and finding nothing out of the ordinary inside.
