A Coon Rapids man died in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon.
According to Iowa State Patrol, at about 1:19 p.m. 64-year-old Jerome Koester was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan near the intersection of Highways 34 and 148 in Adams County. For unknown reasons Koester failed to yield at the stop sign and entered Highway 34 where he was struck by a westbound Peterbilt truck driven by 47-year-old Travis Dukes of Lenox. Dukes’ truck then rolled on its driver’s side. Koester was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, and the accident remains under investigation. Adams County Emergency Medical Services, and Corning Fire and Rescue also assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
