The Dallas Center-Grimes Boys’ Basketball team had been struggling the past two weeks. After starting the season 7-0, the Mustangs dropped three in a row. DC-G had enough of the losses, and we bound and determined to get out of Tuesday’s match-up with ADM with a win, and the did just that, 63-59.
The Mustangs were lead in scoring by Luke Rankin with 16 points. Cole Glasgow put up 14, and the supporting cast of role players added in nice contributions for DC-G. The scoring from role players was something that was missing in the losses for Dallas Center-Grimes.
Shot selection and ball movement was key for DC-G offensively. The Mustangs shot 56% from the field, and had assists on 19 of their 22 made field goals. DC-G was also able to penetrate the ADM defense and shot 17 free throws for the evening.
In Girls’ action, DC-G fell in a nail-biter to ADM, 67-63.
DC-G will be back in action on Friday at Newton. This will be second match-up of the year for DC-G and Newton, as the good guys and gals picked up wins over the Cardinals in the last outing in early December.
