The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began with a budget funding request from the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance. The Board took no action on the proposal, but will consider it when formulating the total County budget. Next, the Supervisors approved spending $3,567 for $1 million in cyber insurance coverage through the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP), and they may increase the amount at a later date. At 9:30 a.m. there was a public hearing regarding an amendment to the local option sales and services tax ordinance, which expires the City of Perry’s former ordinance and officially activates their new one. The Board approved the first reading of the amendment, and will hold the second on January 28th.
The Supervisors then set the time and date to receive and open bids for the Ortonville Lagoon demolition and new courtroom projects, which will be February 13th at 2 and 2:15 p.m., respectively. They also set a public hearing for February 4th at 9:30 a.m. to consider a lawn care contract. Finally, the Board approved $29,991.90 for a vehicle purchase for the Sheriff’s Office, and an access agreement with the City of Adel for their water main project. The meeting ended with a budget workshop with the Emergency Medical Services Department.
